"legal requirement"?? There's no 30 day LEGAL requirement. That's just
company policy trying to dispel the implied warranties of suitability and
merchantability. The implied warranties are taken by the judicial system
at 4 years, not 30 days, because engineering and material defects don't
always show up in very short time periods. If you read the FTC manual I
quoted under the implied warranties, which they CANNOT nullify as it always
says in every written warranty, it explains to them their obligation under
the implied warranties.

30 days is just company bull**** trying to get the customer to accept the
products and blame him/herself after the first 30 days.....

It's all a psychological warfare game.

I think it's more a matter of conforming to the 30 day termination of a
service plan without penalty that resulted from lawsuits against the
carriers.

Exactly, and I "believe" legislation was drafted as a result of all the calls
to the AGs and it was realized that the issue was national. I am not sure the
Government should be involved in such regulation, but I guess it is a fine
line when the number of competitors is so few.
