I've been an AT&T customer for years and up until this week rarely had
reason to call their customer service line. I received a card in the
mail about their new voicedial service that allows you to say "Call
John" verbally and it dials John. I called in 3 times before I found
someone who could answer simple questions such as "how many numbers
may I store for verbal commands?" I think this is a reasonable
question. I got answers from 20 to 500. No one seemed to know anything
about this new service. I finally found one person who could answer my
questions. I signed up for the service on Monday of this week. Today
is Thursday and VoiceDial has yet to work even one time for me. It
consistantly rejects my password and no one at AT&T can figure it out.
I've been put on hold long enough this week to watch major weather
patterns forming around the Denver area. I've been cut off twice. I
even took the time to write a detailed email about the issue I'm
having to their customer service department. Today they replied and
used their reply to try and sell me on MLife. Needless to say I've
dropped their new VoiceDial service since it doesn't work. And now I'm
looking into dropping AT&T in general. I travel a lot around the USA
and Canada and need a service that supports both on the same plan like
I have with AT&T. Any suggestions would be appreciated. What happened
to the AT&T that used to have great customer service? What year did
that go away?

Thanks,
Don

Thats why you get a real phone... one with voice dialing built in :P

But seriously... attws support blows fat chunks, i ask about CSD and they
give me an advertisment for mMode.. its like, yeah people... i know mMode
exists, but I dont want it.. I want CSD. Then I ask about using a different
GPRS account from another provider, and I get the same stuppid advertisment!
There service is gay, im moving over to t-mobile once my contract is up....
I should have gone with the gut feeling before going with att to simply get
the t-mobile sidekick and use t-mobile.
