View Full Version : Using 95cl as Modem??

Ok, so I've sifted through all the messages I can find with the crappy
Newsreader I have on my work computer, and can't seem to find a
definative answer.

I want to use my i95cl as a modem for another device (not actually a
Laptop, but my new Sony CLIE). I know where/how to get the cable to
connect the two, so that's not the issue. Both setting it up/billing
is where I have questions.

I have the $10 Premium Web package on my phone now. Is it possible to
setup the modem w/ my current plan? Do I need to upgrade? Am I going
to start paying by the minute? Do I have to bring my own ISP, or can
I use Nextel like I used to use Sprint?

Sorry if these are redundant, oft answered questions, but like I said,
I can't seem to search back to far from work.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. You will have to call and make sure that you have "dialup" activated
on your plan (it's free if you have the messaging package, and I think it's
also free if you have the web package). Anyway, call and make sure it's
activated, then you can use your phone as a modem.
