I find Motorola phones to be the best on the market......I've had many
brands in the past, and have had several Motorola phones and they have been,
by far, the best. I'm assuming you've had one bad experience and are making
a generalized statement.

I agree.I bought a nokia 3410 and the the built in aerial is crap, what a
piece of crap nokia's are.Give me a good motorola T180 any day.I wish i
still had my T180 but the charger socket got knackered so the phone was
dumped.I went to the link phone shop today and asked for a T180 and was told
they had been discontinued.:(

Bah, just go for the Treo 600 smartphone when it comes out, by handspring.
It's what all the other phones with a color screen are trying to evolve
into.

Thanks :)
I guess it comes down to choice........Do you want a dependable
phone, or a game boy? Me, I'll take the dependable phone.
I've been in law enforcement since the late 70's.......Motorola has
never let me down. I've had motorola phones since the early "brick"
handheld in the early 90's, then the old flip phone, then the analog
star tac, then the digital star tac. When I switched providers (CDMA
to TDMA) they didn't have any more dig star tacs, as the V60's had
been released. I didn't want to pay the huge $$$ for one of those,
so I got the V120T. Now I'm looking at the V720T, once they improve
the battery life, or the replacement for the V60T. Games, ringtones
aren't what I want in a phone. I want reasonable battery life,
dependability, good sound quality. I've seen tons of Nokias end up
on the trash bin, because of one thing or another....at least for me
(and I don't treat phones like a piece of china either), Motorolas
have never let me down. LOL..... I even took my old start tac apart,
cleaned all the dirt and debris out of it (LCD had dust around the
edges). Before I put it back together, I took my airbrush, and
painted the case "camoflauge" style! Everytime I took it in to have
the PRL updated, the tech guys would ask me where I got a camoflauged
case. I told them I took it apart and painted it myself. They told
me you can't take one of these apart. I said sonnie.....I've been
taking apart electronic equipment, repairing it, and putting it back
together longer than you've been alive. If it's been built, it can be
taken apart. He said what about the warranty........So......who
cares, it's a motorola, I don't need a warranty.

I add my voice to the support of Motorola.
I have just spent 12 months with a T68i, and to be honest I could not wait
to get rid of it.
You want to hear quiet ringtones ? T68i has them
A weak vibrate that you cant feel ? T68i has them
Confusing menu system ? Yep, T68i has one of those
Unusable 'joystick' which presses when you dont want it to ? Yep
11 keypresses to resend a SMS which failed ? Yep
Weak reception ? Yep.
Stupid screensaver so you cant have a quick look at the screen to get signal
strength, missed calls info etc without pressing buttons.
All these problems and more have been sorted by my recent purchase of a
T720i. Much better phone, much more customisable and much easier to use.
I love handy features like:
Vibrate then ring
Auto resend of failed SMS
Good signal 99% of the time
Numerous shortcut setups making it easy to get to most used features.
Flip design meaning you dont have to lock the keypad.
External display so you can have a quick glance to see if you have miised a
call/message
Reminders every 5 minutes by vibrate if you have missed a call/message
OK, the camera is a bit poor, but I don't need a camera on my phone.
And the lack of communication (IR, BT) is a let down but will be included in
the V600
After switching to the Sony (to get Bluetooth) after 5 previous Motorola's,
I will never buy a non motorola again, and am looking forward to the V600.
Just my opinions.

My Actual post was to hear about persons who have problems with Motorola. I
used a V66 until it stopped ringing. It was 3 months ago that I gave my
cellphone in for service and I am still waiting to hear from them. You in
USA and UK know something like Customer Care. In South Africa that is
something you will never get. I mean. I went out to buy a new cellphone 2
day after giving my cell in for service. THEY - MOTOROLA couldnt give me a
loan phone.
Please let me know if you are in South Africa and have the same problem with
Motorola. I want to drill them all the way....
